WhatsApp Broadcast: Message Every Customer You've Ever Sold To

Mellisa.MMellisa.MAugust 12, 2026·6 min read

Your best customers are the ones who already bought from you. They know your prices, they know your quality, and they've handed you money before.

Most merchants never message them again.

Not out of laziness — because it's tedious. Scrolling your chat list trying to remember who bought what, copying the same message into twenty conversations, losing your place halfway through.

WhatsApp Broadcast fixes that. Write your message once, and Strawlo walks you through your customers one at a time. It's live now on the web dashboard and in the app.

Your customer list is already there

You don't import anything or build a list. Every time someone pays for an order, their number is saved. Broadcast messages that list.

It quietly cleans itself up, too. Landlines get left out because they can't receive WhatsApp. So do foreign numbers. And if the same person ordered twice — once as 0244123456, once as +233 24 412 3456 — they're recognised as one customer and messaged once, not twice.

Write once, personal for everyone

Type your message and drop in the details:

Hi {name}, new stock just landed at {store} — have a look: {link}

Ama gets "Hi Ama". Kwame gets "Hi Kwame". There's also a product picker: search your catalogue, tap a product, and its link drops straight into the message — no copying URLs.

Underneath, you see the message exactly as it'll look in WhatsApp, filled in with a real name from your list. That's on purpose. It's how you notice a customer saved in ALL CAPS, or one with no name, before you've sent it forty times rather than after.

Check before you send

Tap Review to see everyone who'll receive it. Search by name or number, and tap anyone to leave them out of this particular message. The count updates as you go — untick five of forty and the button reads "Start broadcast to 35".

Then you tap send

Here's the bit worth being straight about: Strawlo doesn't send the messages. You do.

You'll see one customer at a time. Tap Send to Ama, WhatsApp opens with the message already typed, you hit send there, and come back. The next customer is ready.

One tap each. Forty customers takes about two minutes — on a computer you can just hold Enter.

That design is deliberate. Automated bulk-messaging services send from a number your customers don't recognise, need business verification and approval, and cost money per message. This sends from your phone, as you, for free — and your customer can reply to it like any normal chat. Skip anyone, go back, close it halfway and pick up where you left off.

Six ways to actually use it

A broadcast is only worth sending if the customer is glad to get it. These are the messages that clear that bar:

📦

Restock alerts

The highest-converting message you can send. Someone asked for a size you didn't have — now you do. Insert the product link and they're one tap from buying.

New arrivals

Your past buyers already like your taste. Show them the new batch before you post it publicly — it makes them feel first, not marketed at.

Weekend sales with a deadline

"20% off till Sunday" beats "20% off" every time. A real end date is what turns interest into a decision today.

💰

Payday timing

Send end-of-month, when people have money. The same message lands very differently on the 28th than on the 12th.

🎄

Seasons and occasions

Christmas, Eid, Valentine's, back-to-school. Give people a reason to buy that isn't just "please buy" — you're solving their gift problem.

👋

Winning back the quiet ones

Customers who bought once and vanished haven't rejected you — they forgot. Use Review to send only to them.

The one that pays for itself: pair a broadcast with a payment link. Broadcast the restock, and when someone replies "how much?", send a payment link straight back in the same chat. They never leave WhatsApp, and you go from message to money in about thirty seconds.

That's the real advantage over SMS or an ad. An ad shouts at strangers. A broadcast starts a conversation with someone who has already paid you once — and because it comes from your own number, they can answer it.

What it won't do

No delivery reports. WhatsApp doesn't tell us whether a message arrived or was read. "Sent" means you tapped send — same as any message you send yourself.

No scheduling. You need to be there to tap.

It's not for thousands. At a few hundred customers, tapping gets tedious. We'd rather ship something that works today than make you wait for approvals you don't need yet.

One piece of advice

You've earned these customers. Message them when there's genuinely something worth knowing — a restock they asked about, a sale that's actually good, something new they'd like.

Find it under WhatsApp → Broadcast in your dashboard, or More → WhatsApp in the app. If you've made a sale, your audience is already waiting.
