Posting Stories
Stories are short videos that appear at the top of your storefront, like the stories you already post on Instagram or WhatsApp. They're the easiest way to show a product actually moving — how a fabric falls, how big something really is, what's just arrived.
A story stays up for 24 hours, then disappears on its own.
This is a Business+ feature.
Posting a Story
- Go to Marketing → Stories.
- Tap Add story.
- Choose a video from your phone or computer.
- Add a caption (optional) — up to 120 characters.
- Add a link (optional) — see below.
- Post it.
Your story appears on your storefront straight away.
Video requirements
- Up to 30 seconds long. Longer clips are rejected, so trim before uploading.
- Filmed vertically (portrait) looks best, since that's how shoppers hold their phones.
- Keep the file reasonably sized — a very large clip takes a long time to upload on mobile data.
Linking a Story to a Product
A story is much more useful when a shopper can act on it. You can attach one link to each story:
- Link a product — search your catalogue and pick one. Shoppers see a button that takes them straight to that product page.
- Use a custom link instead — any other URL, with your own button label (up to 24 characters).
If you attach a link but don't write a label, the button says Shop now.
You can attach a product or a custom link, not both — one short video can only carry one call to action.
How Many You Can Have
You can have up to 10 stories live at once. Since each one expires after 24 hours, that's rarely a limit you'll hit in normal use. If you're at the cap, wait for the oldest to expire or delete one.
Reposting
When a story is close to expiring, a Repost button appears on it. Reposting puts the same video back up for another 24 hours — no re-uploading, no re-editing. Useful when a piece performed well or you want to catch a different time of day.
Seeing How a Story Did
Each story shows two numbers:
- Views — how many people watched it.
- Taps — how many tapped through to the product or link.
Above the list you'll also see a This week summary across all your stories, so you can tell at a glance whether stories are earning their time.
Taps are the number to watch. Plenty of views with almost no taps usually means the video is fine but the link isn't obvious, or the product wasn't what people expected.
Editing and Deleting
You can change a story's caption and link after posting. The video itself can't be swapped — delete the story and post a new one instead.
Deleting a story removes it from your storefront immediately.
Stories in the App
Stories work the same way in the Strawlo app — open the More tab, then Stories. Recording straight from your phone is usually quicker than uploading from a computer.
Tips
1. Show, don't describe
Stories are for the things a photo can't do — the drape of a dress, the size of a bag next to a hand, a candle actually lit.
2. Always attach a product
A story without a link is a nice video. A story with a link is a sale. Attach the product you're showing.
3. Post when people are looking
Evenings and weekends tend to get the most views. Since stories only last 24 hours, timing matters more than it does for a product listing.
4. Keep it short
You have up to 30 seconds, but you rarely need them. Ten seconds of the product in use beats thirty seconds of setup.
5. Repost what worked
If a story got good taps, repost it. The same clip will reach people who missed it the first time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a story stay up?
24 hours from when you post it. After that it disappears from your storefront automatically.
Which plan do I need?
Stories are a Business+ feature.
Can I post photos instead of videos?
No — stories are video only. For still images, use your product photos or the hero image on your storefront.
Do customers need an account to watch?
No. Anyone visiting your store can watch your stories, no sign-in required.
Can I see who watched?
No. You see the total number of views and taps, not which individual people watched.
What happens to my stories if I downgrade to Business?
Stories stop appearing on your storefront. They come back if you upgrade again.
