Selling with Snapchat

Selling with Snapchat

Strawlo connects your store to Snapchat in three ways. Each works independently, so you can use one, two, or all three:

  1. Share on Snapchat button — shoppers share your products to Snapchat from your product pages. Business+.
  2. Snap Pixel and Conversions API — your Snapchat ads learn which visits and purchases they drive. Business+.
  3. Snapchat Ads connection and product catalog — your products sync into Snapchat automatically for Dynamic Ads. Business+.

The Share on Snapchat Button

Every product page on your storefront shows a Share on Snapchat button below the Buy button. When a shopper taps it, Snapchat opens with your product's link attached, ready to snap to friends or post to a Story. Anyone who sees the snap can swipe up to open that product on your store.

The button is part of Business+ and is on by default. No setup needed. On the Business plan, the button does not appear on your storefront, and the toggle in Customize store is locked with an upgrade link.

Turning it off or on

  1. Go to Settings, then Customize store.
  2. Open the Social media links section.
  3. Use the Share on Snapchat button toggle.
  4. Save.

The same toggle exists in the Strawlo mobile app under Customize store, in the Social links section. The setting syncs between web and the app.

Snap Pixel and Conversions API

Requires Business+ and a Snapchat Ads account.

If you run Snapchat ads, the Snap Pixel tells Snapchat what shoppers do on your store — pages viewed, items added to cart, checkouts started, and purchases. Snapchat uses this to measure your results and show your ads to people more likely to buy.

Adding your Snap Pixel

  1. In your Snapchat Ads Manager, open Events Manager and copy your Pixel ID.
  2. In Strawlo, go to Visitors & Tracking, open the Pixels & Tracking tab, and tap Add Pixel.
  3. Choose Snapchat Pixel, paste your Pixel ID, pick the events you want to track, and save.

Strawlo installs the pixel across your storefront automatically — no code needed.

Adding the Conversions API (recommended)

Browser pixels are often blocked on iPhones and by ad blockers, which means Snapchat misses some of your sales. The Conversions API fixes this: Strawlo's servers report each purchase to Snapchat directly, so nothing gets lost.

  1. In Snapchat Ads Manager, go to Business Details, find Conversions API Tokens, and select Generate Token. Copy it.
  2. In Strawlo, edit your Snapchat pixel in Visitors & Tracking.
  3. Turn on Server-side tracking (CAPI) and paste the token.
  4. Save.

Purchases are reported both ways from then on. Snapchat automatically removes duplicates, so sales are never counted twice.

Snapchat Ads Connection and Product Catalog

Requires Business+ and a Snapchat Business account with an ad account.

Connecting your Snapchat Ads account lets Strawlo create a product catalog inside Snapchat — a live copy of your products with photos, prices, stock status, and links to your store. Snapchat refreshes it from your store once a day, so it always matches what you're selling.

With a catalog, you can run Dynamic Ads: Snapchat builds ads from your products automatically and shows each person the items they're most likely to buy. Combined with your Snap Pixel, it can also retarget shoppers with the exact products they viewed but didn't purchase.

Connecting your Snapchat Ads account

  1. Go to Visitors & Tracking and open the Pixels & Tracking tab.
  2. Find the Snapchat Ads card and tap Connect.
  3. Sign in with your Snapchat Business account and approve access.
  4. If you have more than one ad account, choose the one to use.

The same card appears in the Strawlo mobile app on the Pixels & Tracking screen.

Enabling the catalog

Once connected, tap Enable catalog on the Snapchat Ads card. Strawlo creates the catalog in your Snapchat Business account and links it to your store. That's it — from then on, Snapchat pulls your latest products every day.

A few things to know:

  • Only visible products are included. Hidden products stay out of the catalog.
  • Each product needs a photo, a name, and a price to be accepted by Snapchat. Products missing any of these are skipped.
  • Price and stock changes appear in Snapchat after the next daily refresh.
  • You create and manage the actual ad campaigns in Snapchat Ads Manager, using your Strawlo catalog as the source.

Disconnecting

Tap Disconnect on the Snapchat Ads card. Your catalog remains in your Snapchat account but stops receiving updates from your store.

Troubleshooting

The share button isn't showing on my product pages. The button requires Business+ — on the Business plan it never appears. If you're on Business+, check Customize store, Social media links section — the toggle may be off. If it's on, refresh the product page.

Snapchat says my catalog has no products. Snapchat may not have fetched your feed yet — the first pull can take up to a day. You can also trigger a fetch manually in Snapchat: open your catalog, go to Data sources, and update the feed. If specific products are missing, confirm they're visible and have a photo, name, and price.

My ad results look lower than my actual sales. Add the Conversions API token to your Snapchat pixel — without it, purchases made on iPhones and behind ad blockers often go unreported.

I downgraded from Business+. The share button disappears from your product pages, and pixel tracking, Conversions API reporting, and catalog updates pause. Everything resumes automatically when you upgrade again — your settings and Snapchat connection are kept.
