Buying a Domain Directly in Strawlo

You can now buy a domain without leaving Strawlo. Search for the name you want, pay, and we register it and connect it to your store for you — with HTTPS and www handled automatically. No separate registrar account, no DNS records to copy.

Before You Begin

You'll need:

A Business or Business+ plan. Custom domains are included on both — there's no separate add-on fee for the feature.
A payment method — Mobile Money or a card.

That's it. You don't need a registrar account or any technical setup.

Step 1 — Open the Buy a Domain Screen

Web: go to Settings → Domain → Buy a domain
Mobile app: open Settings → Domain → Buy a domain

Step 2 — Search for a Name

Type the name you want — for example kofifashion — and tap Search.

Strawlo checks availability across the domain endings we offer (.com, .store, .shop, .co, and .market) and shows you which ones are free, with the yearly price next to each. You'll also see the renewal price so there are no surprises later.

A few tips for choosing:

Keep it short and memorable — kofifashion.com beats kofis-amazing-store.com.
Avoid hyphens and numbers; they're hard to say out loud.
.com is the most trusted, but .store, .shop and .co are great if your .com is taken.

Step 3 — Pick a Domain and Enter Your Details

Tap the domain you want. You'll be asked for a few registrant details (your name, address, phone and email). These are required by ICANN, the body that governs domain names — and they confirm you own the domain.

For Ghana, the postal code is filled in for you automatically.

Step 4 — Pay

Tap Continue, then choose how you'd like to pay:

Pay with Mobile Money — MTN, Telecel and others.
Pay with Card — and your domain will renew automatically every year.

The price you saw on the search screen is exactly what you pay. Complete the payment in the secure window that appears.

Step 5 — You're Done

Once your payment succeeds, Strawlo automatically:

Registers the domain in your name.
Connects it to your store — no DNS records for you to add.
Points www to your store (www.yourbrand.com redirects to yourbrand.com).
Turns on a free SSL certificate so your store loads securely over https://.

It usually takes just a few minutes for everything to go live. You'll see your domain connected in Settings → Domain.

Your old yourstore.strawlo.com address keeps working too — you're just gaining a second, prettier one.

Renewing Your Domain

A domain is yours for one year at a time, then it renews.

Paid by card? It renews automatically each year — nothing to do.
Paid by Mobile Money? We'll email you a reminder before it expires with a link to renew in one tap.

If a domain isn't renewed in time, it expires and your store automatically switches back to its free yourstore.strawlo.com address, so your store never goes down — you simply lose the custom address until you get a new one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a domain cost?

It depends on the ending — the exact yearly price (and renewal price) is shown next to each name when you search. You pay that directly in Strawlo; there's no separate registrar bill.

Which plans can buy a domain?

Both Business and Business+. Custom domains aren't a Business+-only feature anymore.

Do I own the domain?

Yes. It's registered in your name using the registrant details you provide.

What happens if I don't renew?

Your store reverts to its free yourstore.strawlo.com address automatically — it never goes offline. You can buy a new domain anytime.

Can I buy a domain from the mobile app?

Yes — the Strawlo iOS app has the same Buy a domain screen.

Can I use a domain I already bought elsewhere?

Yes — use Connect a domain you own instead. See Connecting a custom domain to your store.
